I am interested in the subject and I have sent my daughter some of your suggestions for developing a curriculum for children. However, I am also wary of the bias towards Christian, agrarian, and politically conservative viewpoints I find on your map and in the educational resources. My own experiences have been more eclectic and diverse. I'd like to listen, if maybe not contribute.
Thanks for your comment Diana. I am writing as a mother, Christian, homeschooler, and our family lives on the borderlands of Mennonite country, thus these qualities naturally inform my writing. But I would be very interested in hearing about your perspective and hear about how your experiences bring additional layers to the map. I remember your comment back in the spring, when you worked at a refugee center during the "digital detox month", and it added another side of device use. When writing articles (compared to books), it seems to be easier to overlook additional viewpoints given the length constraint, and thus to just stay in the arena that is most familiar.
The time was perfect if it had been any other Saturday. But that afternoon I will be hosting my daughter’s 2nd birthday party. Her birthday is the previous weekend, as is my niece’s, so we coordinated and we got the 28th. I hope it goes through and I will look forward to catching up!
I really want to do it! I didn't know about the Front Porch conference. I saw the word "conviviality" and immediately thought, "here is evidence of the communities of friends like Illich talked about!" I cannot say how many years I have fantasized. I was thinking of getting a farm sitter and going, but they are sold out! I am so near in MN and have been to Madison many times.
I recently went to health freedom conference locally and tried my best to contrive a spontaneous call to locals to gather and plan to keep knowing each other. The organizers were nervous about self-organization being misused by someone, so I just tried to boldly (being a shy person) step into conversations with strangers.
It has been suggested to me again and again to form an online community, but I don't want to! I poured my heart into trying to coordinate pandemic defense for children and families, and online did not do it for me. No more. I want real people. I keep thinking they are just around the corner. The problem is I have not been leaving notes and signals for them, have not thrown open my doors nor left the candle in the window...
Well anyways, I will certainly meet online with you all who are looking for embodied community. Lol

Interested:)
I'll be there!
I love this idea! Count me in :)
Great! Would love to chat in person :)
Yes!!
I’m keen. I’m in Brisbane Australia. I the timing will be 6am Sunday morning if my figuring is correct. I suspect my sister might be keen too!
Would love to have you along - and it would be a great way to start your day early :) !
Unfortunately I will not be free at that time. I will pray for a fruitful discussion!
Sorry that my "perfect time calculation" was not flawless afterall... If it does go ahead, we will likely have a recording of it as well.
