Yes, exactly! I keep wondering when we as a society are really going to pay attention to this tipping point we seem to be wobbling at. And congrats to your daughter on that logo, I think it’s great!
Thanks Mike! I am happy to hear that my writing serves to encourage. There are many pieces on my substack that followed this one that are much meatier with regard to "leading a life of less distraction". "A Digital Detox Pilgrimage" contains a digital detox game plan based on Cal Newport's Digital Minimalism, while "How to Make a Home for Humans" addresses how changing our living space is a fundamental step maintaining better digital habits.
Sometimes I tell my children why I’m on the phone -eg arranging a great activity/outing for them, or they know I’m listening to Bible Recap podcast on it. But yes, I am a recovering ‘phoney’. Thanks for your inspiration to higher levels.
Yes, that is a helpful practice. Letting them know that it is task-related, rather than mind-less scrolling, positions the phone in its proper place as tool. Glad to offer you further inspiration :)

Just to say that your writing is encouraging and inspiring me to keep pressing on with a life of less distraction and I appreciate it.
